World Teachers’ Day
“True teachers are those who help us think for ourselves”
- Dr. S. Radhakrishnan
Darul Huda Islamic School celebrated World Teachers’ Day on 7th October, 2018 in lieu of 5th October, 2018, which is celebrated as World Teachers’ Day all over the world since, 1994. The theme for this year was ‘The right to education means the right to a qualified teacher’.
The assembly proceedings started with prayer by Mr.Salih, our Islamic studies teacher. It was followed by UAE National Anthem sung by our male teachers. A group song which was dedicated to the students by our lady teachers added charm to the celebration.
Many cultural programmes were organized by the students which included a ‘Thank You Teacher’ show by our tiny tots of kindergarten, a mime show was done by our senior secondary boys and a group song was dedicated to the teachers by the senior girls. Students presented sweets, flowers and gifts, as a token of love and respect to their teachers. A touching speech by Nafeesath Faheema of 12th Sci A and a poem beautifully written and recited by Marwa of 11th Sci A also graced the occasion.
Teachers’ games were held as a part of the celebration. A ‘lucky teacher’ draw was also held which was sponsored by Malabar Gold.
Our Principal, Mr.Muneer Chalil, addressed the entire school and lauded the teachers for their exemplary contribution to the school’s phenomenal success.
