Safer Internet Day – 2018
Safer Internet Day was celebrated globally on 6th February . Darul Huda Islamic School celebrated this day with the theme ‘Be the change : Unite for a better internet’.
A research was made by the school to find out the impact of Technology in the lives of students. School observed the day by conducting various activities in the morning assembly. Ryhana of 7A enlightened the gathering with a speech on the ‘Awareness of Internet Safety’. Fathima MK and Naval of 8E came up on stage with an interesting conversation on the topic ‘constructive use of technology for students’ safety.
A thought provoking Mime was presented by the students of 8D, 7C, 7D brought about the awareness on the disastrous effect of technology on the youth. Signature tree near the stage was a symbolic presentation by the students’ on how they expertise the technology.
School has conducted an online and offline survey with various innovative questions. Survey outcomes were very interesting. After the survey the report says that most of the students are using internet regularly for educational and entertainment purposes. Majority of them are reading online newspapers. 80 % of the students are using social media like Facebook,WhatsApp and YouTube regularly.
To celebrate the day, students were asked to pledge what they will do to make the internet a better place. The assembly activities ended after the Principal’s Address where he stated the importance of the day and instructed how to act responsibly and safely online.
