World Book Day- 2019
World Book Day is celebrated worldwide on 23rd April every year. Darul Huda Islamic School observed and celebrated the day conducting various activities in the morning assembly.
The programme started with a prayer by Ahmad Misbah of Grade 8 B .To give a quick glance at the recent happenings, Asma of 12th Science A presented the morning headlines. World Book Day is celebrated on the day of the birth anniversary of the greatest dramatist William Shakespeare. An informative presentation was done by Devananda and Jessiah of Grade 9th A shared some interesting facts about Shakespeare. Faheema of 12th Com A recited a poem entitled ‘Book- A Key to Knowledge’, which was composed by herself. Marwah of 12th Science A delivered a speech on the topic ‘Myself as a reader and a Writer’ in which she reflected her own experience as a writer. Students of 12th Com B showcased ‘The Evolution of Books’ in the form of aTableau. A literary quiz was conducted to test students’ literary knowledge. To make this day more special and to encourage young readers, we honoured the frequent readers of Darul Huda. Our senior faculty and a writer of many books, Mr. Mujeeb Thangal in his speech highlighted the importance of books in our life.
The assembly activities ended with Principal’s address where he stated the importance of the day.
